The Awards have been created to recognise excellent creative work that illustrates and communicates the importance of CSR, sustainable development, and ethical best practice. And they will be awarded to brands or organisations that have demonstrated their commitment to these issues in a creative and effective way across different media platforms and marketing disciplines.
The overall objectives for the Green Awards are as follows:
To recognise and reward outstanding creative work that communicates sustainability.
To set the agenda for brands to brief agencies to include CSR within the creative process.
To create a forum for how the media can help solve some of the environmental issues in a creative way.
To develop the notion of 'Reform Advertising' i.e. advertising which includes environmental and social considerations during its planning and execution.
These objectives will ensure that the event not only provides an excellent platform for the promotion of the Green Awards among industry and communications professionals, but will ensure that the issues remain high on the creative and media industry's future agenda.
The Green Awards are open to all companies whose campaigns fall into one of twelve categories ranging from best TV ad to best use of copy and art direction. And the awards ceremony will be held at a glittering gala evening at the historic London Guildhall on November 29th 2006.
This will be a 'green tie' event that will itself showcase sustainability throughout and will combine a drinks reception, organic dinner and awards ceremony to follow. The evening will also include talks from well known industry figures and celebrities, and will be hosted by Penney Poyzer from the popular BBC series 'No Waste Like Home'.
We are gathering together an impressive range of guest speakers, communications experts and industry leaders to be part of this inaugural event. They will inspire, inform and motivate the audience as well as celebrate the Green Awards by highlighting some of the communications issues concerning brands and organisations in today’s world. Their speeches will ultimately reflect on how marketing should be the key driver to responsible growth and development and discuss how the implications of our actions are now more far reaching than ever before.
