Event Overview
In spite of the efforts of major developing countries in Africa, we still face common challenges in the economic and political areas as it affects youth involvement in capital markets and trade-investment initiatives.
Though, institutional responses may vary from country to country, The African Union and Nepad has in their own capacity engaged in policies and strategies aimed at addressing the common needs of the African continent via the introduction of special “Economic Empowerment policies and programs towards accelerated and shared growth initiatives”.
In view of this, we have deemed it fit to organize a “3Day” Youth Business Forum to review, deliberate and develop policies in relation to the pursuit of the above mentioned strategies as it affects the development of Youth Economic Empowerment initiatives.
We acknowledge these noble efforts and wish not only to partner in success but also serve as a helping body to develop and introduce the African youth to the many investment strategies and opportunities made available within and outside our noble continent.
A school of thought postulates – the wealth of a nation can be measured by the active involvement of youths in developing a sustainable economy.
But, with the ravenous increase in political upheavals of various crises within the continent, the productive strengths of the youth has rather been diverted into instruments of wars, strives and political unrest.
In spite of these misplaced priorities, there is a tendency for individual youth to manifest to the highest peak of self-actualization via realizing the many hidden potentials buried by the pains of:
(i) the past (wars crisis, strives, death and failures)
(ii) The present: (scarce resources and the fear of where and how to start again.)
Hence, these inexcusable factors should be dealt with to promote youth development around the continent.
We hereby propose a direct approach to implementing our desired goal by putting together the very first of the series of:
“The African Youth Business Forum”.
