The course was developed to strengthen the capacity of legislator’s, civil society actors to effectively participate in budgetary process. It will equally seek to advance institutional capacity of agencies involved in budgeting to make a positive impact on the budget, and to equip them, with the necessary tools to examine the budget from a gender perspective. It will further x-ray the mechanisms and methods for developing a gender-sensitive budget, factors and obstacles militating against people-oriented budget so as to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, MDG’s.
The maximum number of course participants is 30. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Participation from the Institute.
