Going green was never easier!
Toronto Conservation Action Network convenes five community Eco-fairs in March 2008
Who Should Attend? Anyone looking to save on your energy bills, install a solar panel, cut down on your driving, eat local or vegetarian, or just plant a tree in your yard?
Going green just got a whole lot easier, thanks to the newly-formed Toronto Conservation Action Network – an informal network of groups and businesses that are helping people live greener. The network includes neighbourhood groups that can engage their community as well as city-wide organizations and companies that provide environmental products and services.
To kick things off, the network is organizing five community fairs across Toronto to help connect people with the organizations and companies that can help them live better through conservation. The fairs are hosted by the Conservation Council of Ontario in partnership with Green Enterprise Toronto and five local partners, with the support of the Ontario Ministry of Energy.
We will be using a speed-presentation format, which means people can hear between five and seven short pitches within an hour. Participants will receive a list of presenters and they will be able to choose the presentations they want to hear. “It’s like speed-dating for the environment,” said Chris Winter, Executive Director of the Conservation Council of Ontario. “It means people can pick the presentations they are interested in.”
