· Land use development and water resources management
· Technical state of water infrastructure and assessment of risks in extreme situations
· Lessons from past management practices, their origin and impacts
· Social and economic factors in making decisions to manage water resource systems
· Prevention and mitigation of damages resulting from floods and droughts
