| Anishnawbe Health Toronto is organizing a Public Forum on June 27, 2007 preceding the National Day of Action for the First Nations (June 29) to educate and inform Canadians about the plight of the First Nations People. In this forum, speakers will address the issues surrounding treaties and land settlement claims, the impact of Government policies on the life of First Nations peoples, and the failure of the fulfillment of the Kelowna Accord, which was signed unanimously in November 2005 by the Prime Minister, all provincial Premiers, and the representatives of the First Nations organizations. The final speaker will discuss steps to redress the historical injustices suffered by the First Nations communities, including the recent announcement of the proposed independent tribunal to settle Indian land claims.
