Youth4Europe: Past, Present, Future is this years edition of a project which aims to inform and train young people from Europe, especially from south east Europe, about themes such as EU enlargement and accession, the reform process of the countries in South East Europe, European identity and citizenship, federalism, democracy, European thinking, the future of the European constitutional treaty and the sustainable and effective political work of youth NGOs. This project will also strengthen existing networks between active young people from the region and help create new ones. An additional emphasis of the event is municipal youth policy relating to European citizenship. Trainings for civil servants responsible for municipal youth policy will be realised with the support of the Association of Austrian Municipalities.
Youth4Europe is made up of four interconnected parts and the main activities will last from the 3 – 23 of September. It consists of a one-week international Seminar, a three-week information campaign in 9 Croatian cities, one week of public cultural and political events in Split and a series of workshops for municipal civil servants and members of municipal governments of the Split region. In addition, an event publication, a homepage and many promotional items will transmit the messages of the event to a more general audience.
Everyone has the opportunity to be a part of the largest political European youth event this summer in Croatia: as a participant of the international seminar, as a participant of the public cultural and political events, as a visitor to our info-points in 9 cities or as a participant of the workshop series on municipal youth policy. |
