On Monday, February 26 at 7 pm in the Centre Communitaire Sainte-Anne (Priestman St., across from the Hospital), the Fredericton chapter of SHOUT (Students Helping Others Understand Tolerance) will be hosting Andrew Sahr Ghongor, a 22 year old St. Thomas University student/ refugee of the Sierra Leonean civil war who fled almost 3 years ago after rebels attacked his village. Andrew is a rising dancehall/raggae musician who sings songs about peace, love, and freedom, and will be playing some of his music during the event.
There is no cost, although donations will be accepted to go towards his mother in Sierra Leone whom he hasn’t seen in 7 years.
Come out to learn about the real "Blood Diamond" experience, and be inspired by Andrew’s powerful witness of survival and courage.
For more information on this concert/lecture, contact Paul Cormier, President of SHOUT Fredericton, at gymxq@stu.ca.
