| It’s Your Turn is a Transnational Meeting for European youth leaders to explore good practice in the management of youth-led community improvement projects. Workshops will train them in needs assessment and prioritisation, project design, scheduling, budgeting, permissions, resource and volunteer mobilisation, project implementation, evaluation and reporting. The meeting will focus on European projects and 3rd Country projects involving Europeans – exploring good practice in the implementation of the new EVS 3rd country opportunities. IYT will continue the Faith in Europe dialogues in preparation for the Year of Intercultural Dialogue on such key European issues as migration, integration, nationalism, conflict management and how partnerships between young Europeans and their peers in the Global South can assist in the effort to achieve the Millennium Development Goals. Following the excellent experience of our 2004 EU Youth Encounter in Wales ahead of the 2005 World Youth Congress, IYT is designed to establish a powerful European Platform on Youth-led Development(YLD) to take to the 4th World Youth Young Congress in Canada in August 2008. As in Wales, all IYT delegates will prepare personal action projects to implement when they get home. Though there will be a report of the Meeting, and it will form the basis of a Schumacher Paper on YLD, the goal of IYT is to stimulate 70 concrete project actions. |
