First international secular conference in French-speaking Africa taking place in Cameroon, 17-19 January 2007
The Cameroon Freethought Association (CAFTA) proudly announces this international conference. The theme will be 'secular humanist and freethought: towards a true enlightenment for Africa?'. The conference will be chaired by Professor Fadel Niang (Senegal) and Mr. Martin Mbille (Cameroon).
"We are fighting for an egalitarian society where the economy is at the service of mankind; a society that allows individuals the opportunity to live and to think freely in the respect of others", according to the organizers.This conference aims at opening the discussion and will debate the necessary methods for the defense of democratic assets, in particular seperation of church and state.
